A Glittering Lineup Takes Shape

The US Open Mixed Doubles Championship is back, and the 2026 edition promises to be bigger and better than ever. World-class singles talent headlines the event, with Aryna Sabalenka pairing up alongside 24-time Grand Slam singles champion Novak Djokovic. Their combined singles ranking is the lowest of any team in the draw, making them the clear favorites on paper heading into the three-day competition at Flushing Meadows from August 24 to 26.

Joining them in the main draw are five other directly qualified teams. Elena Rybakina teams up with Taylor Fritz, while Diana Shnaider partners Daniil Medvedev. Last year's runners-up, Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud, return hoping to go one better this time around. Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli, along with Amanda Anisimova and Learner Tien, round out the direct entrants.

Wild Cards Add Extra Spice

The wild card selections bring plenty of storylines. Rising Filipino star Alex Eala gets her shot alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime, while the married couple of Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils adds a personal dimension to the competition. The defending champions, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, also received wild cards to defend their title, which they won in the inaugural edition of this reimagined format.

Further wild card additions include Leylah Fernandez paired with Frances Tiafoe, and Taylor Townsend alongside Alexander Zverev, with three additional spots still to be announced. The variety of playing styles and personalities in the draw makes predicting a winner genuinely difficult.
