Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend have completed a career Grand Slam as a doubles partnership after claiming the women's doubles title at the US Open in New York. Siniakova and Townsend had cruised through the draw without dropping a set before the final, but a wobble in the opening set, highlighted by three consecutive double faults from Siniakova in the deciding game, handed the first set to Krueger and Montgomery. The response was swift and dominant: the winning pair took 23 of 27 points after the first game of the second set to level the match, then broke early in the third to go 3-1 up and never looked back.
